I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted here, but so many things are going on right now that finding the time to actually post something here worthwhile is difficult. As it is, I’m only posting here to let you know that I haven’t forgotten about this site, I’m still around, and I do intend to start posting here again with useful information just as soon as I can.

I’ve upgraded numerous plugins recently and not had an issue. However, this morning I was attempting to upgrade cforms and a few of Lester Chan’s plugins and they failed.
Unfortunately I also discovered that when the automatic plugin upgrade fails, it removes the plugin completely from the list of available plugins….and also deletes the directory. Now this obviously wouldn’t have been an issue if the plugin upgrade hadn’t failed, but since it did, it means that now I’ve got to manually download the plugin, and then ftp it to my server.
If this is going to be a major issue with automatic plugin upgrades, then I may just stop using the automatic upgrade feature altogether. Could it be that the plugins themselves are not setup properly for automatic upgrade?
I’m working on a theme and I don’t have access to my local server right now. The regular theme will be back up in a little while…

<begin rant>There are times when I’m designing a theme that I just want to beat Internet Explorer to death with a sledge hammer.
For those of you who are still using Internet Explorer, download Firefox and see what the web is really supposed to look like.

Last year I created Wordpress Mania because I really enjoy working with the software and I thought that I’d have something to contribute. As sometimes happens, I just didn’t have time to really work on the site and keep it updated. Not to mention that at the time, there were tons of people out there that had infinitely better design skills, coding skills, and working knowledge of WordPress.
So I decided that I would take down WPMania, and move it to the back burner while I worked on gaining the skills necessary to really make a go of the site. Not to mention the time aspect.
So welcome to the new and improved WordPress Mania. I hope to have a lot to offer the WordPress community in the future.
